I am a Masters student in History at the University of Hyderabad. I have been a consistent topper in my class and have done readings and term papers as part of my academic works. From what I have experienced in the Indian school curriculum, I see that the students are only taught a certain narrative that dominates all the discussions. Here I would like to approach the history from the fringes by looking at South Indian history, history of the oceans and associated fields that are usually neglected in the larger schema of things.
