About Claire
I love science and math, but I can't say the same thing about school. I'm a big believer in getting help in order to strengthen independent learning skills.
I started tutoring in high school, found it really rewarding and continued on doing it part time through my undergrad and graduate school. I've learned how important a comfortable relationship with a teacher/ tutor is, and how many people fall through the cracks in the education system because they don't feel comfortable asking questions. I'm non-judgemental, and have had my fair share of challenges throughout all my schooling, and find a lot of meaning in helping other people through it.
I've also TA-ed for 4 years in Victoria :)

-I am adaptable to what approach works for you, am not fixed to one methodology because I know everyone learns differently
-I do particularly well with people who struggle with focus/ attention and have a lot of compassion for that
-I ask that you send me what you want to work on 3 days in advance (either specific questions or subject area)
-I work with elementary school, high school, and undergrad student in math and science (undergrad depends on the course, but definitely all first year sciences)
-I also tutor people in data analysis who are doing thesis style projects

Excellent! It was my first time getting a tutor and I was nervous, but my experience with Claire was great! She was super-positive, patient and nice with me, and I felt more calm. She answered my questions and helped me work through the difficulties that I had with high school trigonometry. I prefer to work in French, and Claire was comfortable with math in both languages. I would definitely recommend her!
