About Crystal
I teach 5th grade Math and Science. My students vary from beyond grade level to many levels below. I believe in bridging the gaps as they appear, and understanding the necessity of needing to take a few steps back to go forward. Just knowing the math with me isn’t enough. I teach the why so that my students understand the entire concept and not just motions of the process. Music, prior knowledge and frequent checks for understanding help us gain perspective on our goals for the day, and I use state standards to drive our instruction.

Math and science can be drab. I help make it a chill activity that you’ll want to learn, be ready to learn, and low-key be excited to master. I work with you to tailor it to your learning style, so that it doesn’t just stick, but make sense.
