About Brandon
I have 17 years of experience in education as an educator, researcher, and leader. I earned my PhD at Texas A&M University in Curriculum and Instruction with an emphasis in Multicultural Education. Also, I have earned three Master-level Degrees: MS in Sociology (Texas A&M University-Commerce), MEd in Early Childhood Education (Texas A&M University-Commerce), and a MEd in Secondary Education from Stephen F. Austin State University.
Most of my research have been around the student and teacher experience and identity development. I have served as a leader in Early Childhood Education, in K-12 Education, and in Higher Education.

I am a constructivist educator that works to make content relevant, meaningful, and relatable. I try to build bridges between students and content based on their needs, interests, and knowledge levels.
A typical lesson begins with building connections to prior knowledge and what is currently of interest and going on in the students life and then we dive into attempting the problems, talking through the problems, and me questioning the student about their process and understandings.
The lessons are targeted for students from K-8 Mathematics, ELAR, Social Studies, Science, and Algebra I.
