About Saman
I am a Computer Science major with a minor in Mathematics and Cognitive Sciences at Rutgers University, deeply passionate about problem-solving and mathematical applications in AI and robotics. My academic background includes Calculus (1,2,3), Linear Algebra, Differential Equations, and Machine Learning, giving me a strong foundation in mathematical reasoning and computational techniques. Beyond academics, I have hands-on research experience in AI, working with Graph Neural Networks (GNNs) and reinforcement learning to optimize robotic motion planning. My work in AI-driven game development and embedded AI systems has strengthened my ability to connect theoretical concepts to real-world applications, making learning both practical and engaging. As a tutor, my goal is to bridge the gap between theory and application by helping students not only excel in exams but also understand how calculus plays a crucial role in AI, engineering, and technology. I believe in fostering critical thinking, curiosity, and problem-solving skills, ensuring my students gain confidence in mathematics and its broader impact.

Teaching Method & Techniques
As a tutor, I focus on building a strong conceptual foundation while encouraging problem-solving skills. I use a structured, step-by-step approach to break down complex Calculus-1 concepts into digestible parts. My teaching style is highly interactive, incorporating visual aids, real-world examples, and AI-powered tools to help students grasp abstract mathematical ideas more effectively. I emphasize active learning, guiding students to solve problems rather than passively absorbing information.
Typical Lesson Plan
Concept Introduction (10-15 min) – Briefly explain the fundamental principles using diagrams and intuitive examples.
Step-by-Step Examples (15-20 min) – Solve problems together, demonstrating techniques and strategies.
Student Practice & Guidance (20-25 min) – Assign similar problems for the student to solve, offering feedback and clarifications.
Real-World Application (10 min) – Discuss how the topic applies to AI, robotics, or other real-life scenarios, making learning engaging and practical.
Recap & Q&A (5-10 min) – Summarize key takeaways and address any remaining doubts.
What Sets Me Apart as a Tutor?
Strong Academic & Research Background – As a Computer Science and Mathematics student at Rutgers, I have hands-on experience applying Calculus in AI and Robotics research.
Customized Learning – I adapt my teaching to different learning styles, whether a student prefers visual explanations, real-world applications, or step-by-step problem breakdowns.
Tech-Driven Approach – I integrate modern tools, such as AI-based problem solvers and simulation software, to make learning more interactive and engaging.
Exam & Assignment Support – I guide students in exam preparation, homework, and projects, ensuring they gain confidence and mastery over the subject.
