About Samantha
I am a fun, family oriented, animal lover, and always like to try something new. I feel comfortable to let students choose their path to success, listen to their likes and dislikes, and tailor my lessons to their needs. It is important to me to make children feel as if they are part of their own learning process. I started my career in a middle school, relocated to a high school, and currently teach in a middle school and high school (one building)! Through discovery based activities, students can shine at an appropriate level, show you what they know, and where they struggle. I truly believe that every child is capable of being successful and will not stop until they feel the benefits of hard work! Watching "ah-ha" moments happen is why I do what I do.

I will meet students in the middle! Sorting out what students already know and where they start to struggle by a simple conversation goes a long way. There is so much knowledge that students have that will boost their confidence to help them understand what they don't. More often than not, students are not struggling with a current topic, but with prerequisite skills necessary to succeed in their current class.
As a current full time teacher, I have an abundance of material accessible on the spot, use an interactive remote format which allows students to see my writing and vice versa. Based on the topics students are learning, I can show alternative processes to arrive at the correct answer, use multiple choice to see why students are choosing incorrect answers, and take a step back to teach previous skills within the current topic.
Just want to prepare for a test? I can review and cover all topics within a unit through practice questions that assess various skills.
My lessons are designed and adjusted for all levels and tailored to meet individual needs. From grade 1 to grade 12, I will prepare for each student I teach!
