About Johann
I am a dedicated math tutor specializing in Grades 6–8—the critical years where strong foundations are built for high school success. I hold a B.Sc. degree and have over 12 years of tutoring experience, supporting learners with different abilities to improve their understanding and confidence in math.
My approach is structured, professional, and results-driven. I combine proven methods such as lesson “priming” (preparing the mind before new work) and concise post-lesson summaries to reinforce learning. Lessons are fully aligned with the curriculum, with clear explanations, guided practice, and additional videos and support material provided after each session.
I teach in both English and Afrikaans. Students can expect a supportive, focused environment where gaps are identified and addressed early. I also work with parents by offering practical guidance to help reinforce learning at home.
My goal is simple: to help each learner build a solid math foundation, gain confidence, and achieve consistent progress.

I offer structured online math lessons for Grades 6–8, focused on building strong foundations and confidence. My approach combines Finnish-style priming before lessons with Japanese-style summaries after, helping learners engage with concepts before and reinforce them afterwards.
Lessons are curriculum-aligned, clear, and interactive. Students can expect step-by-step explanations, guided practice, and access to follow-up videos and support material. I also provide practical guidance for parents to support learning at home.
