About Joey
I'm a first year Mathematical Science undergrad student at Uni of Bath, just recently finished with my A-Level with A* in both single and further maths and A in Physics. I've been giving lessons to my peers since 2017. I've participated in rounds of British Mathematical Olympiad in 2017 and 2018.

I teach Maths to GCSE and first year A-Level students of all syllabuses, although my exam board was MEI (OCR) which I'm more familiar with.
Let's take a typical hour-long session as an example, I'll spend the first ten minutes revising what we had covered last time, and some teaser questions, just to get my pupil into the groove and mindset for the subject first; then 40 minutes of teaching new contents; and 10 minutes in the end to recap and set questions and works outside of the session for the student to complete.
I like to be very mentally close with my student, that means they can follow what I'm saying to minor details and I can do the same for them, and that's why I strongly encourage them to ask a lot of questions, but in the meantime keep that in a healthy balance with internal thinking that's irreplaceable in studying Maths, and that balance should vary ever so slightly between individuals, so it's the job of the student to figure that out for themselves - which will be massively beneficial for them in the long term - and my job to provide stimulus and assistance.
