About Pedro
I am a theoretical physicist, having recently submitted my PhD thesis at Monash University, which deals with the statistical properties of quantum mechanical processes. My previous degree (2016) is an MSc in Mathematical Physics from The University of Edinburgh. During my years at Monash, I formally worked as a tutor with undergrad students with topics ranging from basic introductory physics to advanced quantum and particle physics. I have also previously worked informally in private tutoring lessons for elementary and high-school students with the specific aim of passing university placement exams or other examinations.

I firmly believe that the teaching of mathematics and science should come with a sense of wonder and inspiration in understanding, rather than with a mechanistic approach to solely reach a given goal. While in my tutoring I am always focused on a particular topic or set of concepts, my approach has always been one of encouraging students to wonder, question, discuss and make their own mistakes so they can reach their own deep insights while learning from their peers or from myself. My ultimate goal as a teacher is to encourage and inspire students to believe in their own ability to think logically and critically.
I can help you reach your particular goals, whether that is preparing an exam, catching up on any topic you are lagging behind or discovering more advanced topics. I am also happy to help with useful tools such as Mathematica, Python or Matlab to perform symbolic calculations, as well as typesetting with LaTeX for any technical documents you may require.
