About Sam
My journey into mathematics education began with a desire to help students overcome fear and frustration around numbers. I earned an M.Ed in Mathematics Education, where I studied instructional strategies, learning psychology, and curriculum design. Over the past 12 years, I have worked with students across elementary school maths, middle school maths, geometry, algebra, and SAT maths, helping them replace uncertainty with clarity. I teach with empathy, patience, and adaptability, adjusting explanations to suit each learner’s pace. I use visual representations, step-by-step reasoning, and practical examples to support understanding. Many students who once lacked confidence gradually develop independence and belief in their abilities. Outside teaching, I design practice materials and study modern education research. Teaching mathematics is deeply rewarding because it equips students with lifelong analytical skills and self-confidence.

Mathematics becomes approachable when students understand how concepts build logically over time. In my lessons, I support learners across elementary school maths, middle school maths, geometry, algebra, and SAT maths through structured explanations that emphasise reasoning and clarity. I focus on helping students understand why methods work so they can approach problems with confidence rather than memorisation. Lesson structure is personalised to each student. Beginners develop number sense, arithmetic fluency, and foundational logic. Intermediate learners strengthen geometry reasoning, algebraic manipulation, and proportional thinking. Advanced learners focus on SAT maths strategies, efficiency, time management, and complex problem-solving. Guided practice and reflection are essential in every lesson. Maths lessons also strengthen patience, confidence, and structured thinking habits. As students grow more confident in algebra and geometry, they approach challenges calmly and logically. My goal is to help learners trust their reasoning abilities and develop skills that support academic success.
