About Steven
I am a graduate of both California Polytechnic State University at San Luis Obispo and of Santa Rosa Junior College, graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics with a Concentration in Teaching and an Associate's in Business Administration with a focus in Accounting, respectively. I have worked primarily with college students and adults (as well as with Middle School and High School students) in various Mathematics and Accounting topics, including Statistics, for over 15 years. I am the sort of person who cares about my tutee learning the academic material and passing their classes as a result of their increased understanding of the material. Everyone who has tutored under me has benefited from better understanding of various math and accounting topics, passing their classes.

I conduct my tutoring sessions with a professional, yet honest demeanor, much like how I conducted my tutoring sessions at Santa Rosa Junior College's Tutorial Center and with the California Department of Rehabilitation, where I have helped students in both classroom and online settings. While my tutoring sessions are primarily one-on-one, I have experience with tutoring students in groups as well. My goal is to increase my tutee's understanding of academic material, for the pursuit of passing their classes at school. In doing this, tutees are encouraged to ask questions that I respond to while I explain relevant concepts. I tailor my tutoring approach to my tutee; any questions they have for my explanations are logically refined to promote understanding based on their learning style. Afterwards, I ensure that tutees have time to practice their material on their own and also with my guidance.
My lessons are for any math topic for middle school students (pre-algebra, algebra), high school students (algebra, geometry, trigonometry, statistics, calculus), and college students. Lessons are conducted wherever and whenever the tutee and I agree to meet (including online), and are agreed upon ahead of time.

Steven is amazing! I was looking for a math tutor for my daughter and found Steven's contact information through the community college. We are so glad we did because Steven is an excellent math tutor who is very professional and accommodating during schedule changes. If it weren't for Steven, my daughter probably wouldn't have excelled in math this year. He has supported her growth this year, and she appreciates Steven as much as I do. We highly recommend Steven.
