My name is Kiera, and I’m a mathematics major currently completing my bachelor’s degree. I have a strong passion for helping others understand math in a way that feels approachable and achievable. With experience tutoring a variety of math subjects—from Algebra and Geometry to Calculus II, I specialize in working with students who want to improve their understanding, build problem-solving skills, and gain confidence in their abilities. My teaching style is calm, clear, and focused on understanding. I explain concepts step-by-step in a way that matches each student’s pace and learning style. I’m big on encouraging questions and breaking things down until they make sense.
A typical lesson starts with a quick review of what the student is currently working on (class notes, homework, etc.), then we go over the foundational concepts needed to understand the current lesson. I walk through examples, check understanding, and give them space to try problems themselves—with support as needed. Every session is flexible, and I adjust based on how they’re doing. Lastly we dive into the areas the student is struggling with most.
What sets me apart as a tutor is my ability to explain challenging concepts in a clear and patient manner, helping students understand not only how to solve a problem, but why the solution works. My goal is to foster long-term mastery, not just short-term results.
