About Ella
My passion for mathematics began when I realized the joy of solving problems that initially seemed overwhelming. This inspired me to pursue an M.Sc in Applied Mathematics, where I explored algebra, geometry, data analysis, and modeling. Over my 11 years of teaching, I have guided students across all levels—from elementary school math through middle school math, algebra, geometry, and SAT math—helping them gain clarity, confidence, and strong problem-solving skills. I teach with patience, clarity, and adaptability, tailoring lessons to each student’s pace and learning style. I incorporate visual examples, real-life analogies, and step-by-step guidance to make abstract concepts accessible. I encourage curiosity, questions, and persistence, creating a supportive environment that fosters growth and confidence. Outside of teaching, I explore educational tools, new strategies, and current mathematical developments to enrich my lessons. Helping students move from confusion to understanding and from hesitation to confidence is one of the most rewarding aspects of my teaching career.

Mathematics becomes engaging when students understand the reasoning behind each concept instead of merely memorizing formulas. In my lessons, I begin by strengthening elementary school math skills, including basic arithmetic, number patterns, place value, and visual models that help learners develop confidence with numbers. As students progress to middle school math, we explore fractions, ratios, percentages, introductory algebra, basic geometry, and problem-solving strategies. I use clear explanations, relatable examples, and step-by-step exercises to build conceptual understanding while fostering curiosity and independent thinking.
Intermediate lessons focus on more advanced algebra, including linear equations, functions, inequalities, and word problems. Geometry topics such as angles, shapes, area, volume, and coordinate grids are taught using visual aids and interactive examples. I also incorporate SAT math strategies, teaching learners how to manage time, identify shortcuts, and approach multi-step problems methodically. Each session emphasizes both comprehension and confidence, helping students tackle unfamiliar problems without anxiety.
Advanced lessons introduce functions, analytic geometry, advanced problem-solving, data interpretation, and logical reasoning challenges. I emphasize systematic approaches, evaluation of multiple solution paths, and clear communication of results. My goal is to ensure that students not only master mathematical concepts but also develop analytical thinking, confidence, and a lifelong appreciation for the subject.
