About Mia
My love for mathematics started when I realized the satisfaction of understanding a concept that initially seemed complex or confusing. This passion led me to pursue an M.Sc in Applied Mathematics, where I explored algebra, geometry, modeling, and statistical reasoning. Over my 11 years of teaching, I’ve helped students of all levels—from elementary school math through middle school math, algebra, geometry, and SAT math—develop strong conceptual understanding and practical problem-solving skills. I focus on delivering lessons with clarity, patience, and adaptability, using visual examples, structured steps, and real-world analogies. I encourage students to ask questions, explore ideas, and feel confident in their ability to solve problems. Every session is designed to support learning, growth, and long-term retention of skills. Outside teaching, I continue exploring mathematical research, educational strategies, and innovative learning tools to create engaging, effective lessons. Helping students move from uncertainty to confidence, and from hesitation to analytical thinking, is what makes teaching mathematics profoundly fulfilling.

Mathematics becomes enjoyable when students understand its patterns and logic, rather than memorizing procedures. My lessons begin with elementary school math foundations, such as numerical fluency, visual models, patterns, and early problem-solving skills. Gradually, learners progress to middle school math, including integers, fractions, ratios, introductory geometry, and algebra. Through structured examples and guided practice, students develop clarity and confidence as they build essential reasoning skills.
As students advance, lessons explore multi-step equations, functions, data interpretation, coordinate geometry, and analytic problem-solving. I also introduce strategies for SAT math, including efficient time management, error checking, and multi-concept reasoning. Lessons incorporate visual aids, diagrams, and real-life examples to ensure each student understands the concepts deeply and can apply them confidently in various problem contexts.
Advanced topics integrate higher-order reasoning, geometric proofs, complex algebraic manipulations, and data analysis. Students learn to approach problems systematically, compare solution strategies, and communicate reasoning clearly. My approach emphasizes patience, encouragement, and structured support, so students gradually gain both skill and confidence in mathematics.
