About Tessa
My interest in mathematics began with a strong fascination for patterns, numbers, and logical reasoning. This led me to complete a PhD in Applied Mathematics, where I developed advanced analytical and problem-solving skills. Over the past 13 years, I have helped students understand math in a clear and structured way that builds confidence and consistent academic success.
I believe math should be taught with clarity, patience, and regular practice. My teaching approach focuses on breaking down complex problems into smaller steps and guiding students through each stage carefully. I encourage learners to ask questions, practice consistently, and build confidence through understanding rather than memorization.
Outside teaching, I enjoy working on mathematical problems and exploring new teaching strategies. This helps me keep lessons engaging and effective. Teaching mathematics is very meaningful to me because I see students grow from confusion to confidence. Helping them develop strong logical thinking, problem-solving ability, and independent learning skills is one of the most fulfilling parts of my teaching journey.

In my lessons, I focus on topics such as arithmetic, algebra, geometry, trigonometry, and calculus using simple and structured explanations. I carefully break each concept into smaller steps so students can follow without confusion. I also include real-life examples and practical applications to help students see how mathematics is used in everyday situations. Each session is interactive and supportive, helping students build confidence while learning step by step in a calm environment.
As students progress, lessons are adapted based on their level and pace. Beginners focus on basic operations and foundational concepts. Intermediate learners work on equations, patterns, and connections between topics. Advanced students focus on complex problem solving, logical reasoning, and exam preparation strategies. I provide regular practice exercises, guided solutions, and detailed feedback to ensure steady improvement and strong conceptual clarity.
Mathematics helps students develop logical thinking, accuracy, and analytical skills. As they improve, they become more confident in solving problems and understanding deeper concepts. These skills are valuable in both academic learning and real-life decision making.
