About Najma

The biggest driver behind my strong passion for teaching is helping others and inspiring confidence in them. As a charismatic individual with creative flair, I enjoy motivating students and building positive relationships with them to create a comfortable space for learning, asking questions and discussing difficulties. Encouraging discussion and creating interactive learning experiences for students are some of my strong suits as I want to instil a love of learning by sparking imagination and challenging students in ways that make learning more fun and enjoyable. When I am not teaching, you can find me reading or painting and binge watching Friends on the weekends!

About the lesson

After working as a Teaching Assistant at Brighton Metropolitan College and a Tutor at Explore Learning, I have worked with more than 20 students a day on a 1:1 basis. I have experience teaching different age groups and enjoy creating fun and interactive learning experiences, tailored to each student. With this experience at hand, I offer 1:1 tutoring with the option of group tutoring to be discussed as required. I specialise in Maths and English at all levels across a variety of syllabuses including AQA, Edexcel and WJEC at GCSE Level. I therefore welcome students of all ages up to 16 years old. My lessons are 55 mins long and are aimed at providing support on challenging topics and more importantly, building confidence in students their abilities. If requested, I also assign homework and activities to help your child practise their methods and gain a better understanding of topics across their subject. Building positive relationships with students and finding different ways to help them take on challenges are some of my strong suits. I believe that each child has a different way of learning and understanding methods and therefore, identifying which type of learning style they relate to is the key to keeping lessons engaging and helping students to achieve their goals.

Najma has been a wonderful tutor to my little brother for the past few months, who has been starting the syllabus for GCSE. She has been nothing but patient with him and quickly identified his weak subjects and ensured that extra attention was given to them till he could tackle them independently. She is always more than willing to hang around longer during a session to make sure that my brother is confident with his learnings and has even recommended textbooks to further aide his teachings, so all in all she’s been lovely !
