About Lisa
Hello, my name is Lisa Msuthu Nywebeni, and I live in Cape Town. I am a qualified electrician and currently a software development student. In my free time, I love teaching because I am passionate about helping students truly understand what they are learning. When I was young, I was diagnosed with ADHD, which made it difficult for me to focus and keep up in school. I often needed extra support from my parents to grasp new concepts, and I know how frustrating it can feel not to understand something. This personal experience inspired me to become a teacher. I understand the importance of patience, guidance, and individualized attention. I strive to create a learning environment where students feel supported, encouraged, and confident in their abilities. My goal is to help you not only succeed academically but also develop the skills and confidence to overcome challenges.

What makes me unique as a teacher is that I encourage my students to take an active role in their learning. While I provide examples and guidance, I make sure students do much of the work themselves. Some students may feel shy admitting they don’t understand, but my approach allows me to see exactly where they need help and ensure they truly grasp the material.
I am very friendly and committed to following up with my students to track their progress and see real improvement in their marks. Students can expect to be fully engaged in my sessions. I believe that the best learning comes from making mistakes and putting in the hard work.
My goal is to help students become critical thinkers who approach problem-solving with an open mind and a deep understanding of what they are doing, rather than just memorizing answers.
