About Luca

I'm a Graduate with a bachelor's in Mathematics (2:1) from the University of Portsmouth with over a year experience online tutoring GCSE maths.

I've always been interested in teaching and tutored a little while attending sixth form, and even acted as a teaching assistant during lunch breaks twice a week while studying.

I really enjoy tutoring and seeing my students grow in confidence and proficiency!

About the lesson

For a longer term student I believe they deserve deep explanations for the mathematics, and try to foster dialogue that would help problem solving in general. I believe it's a life skill to be able to reason and break down any problem to figure out how to approach it. I'm happy also to do focused sessions that can explain a single topic and provide a structured worksheet for it.

For students that are closer to an examination period I think it's best to focus much more heavily on exam practice, giving past papers or problem sheets that contain a mix of questions. These sessions I am primarily there to help with revision + explain/work through a problem a student is stuck with. I can help provide notes on which topics seem to be weak points for targeted revision.
