About Dr Neri
I am a full-time mathematics tutor based in Sheffield, UK providing lessons ONLINE and IN-PERSON helping people better understand mathematics across many levels (GCSE, A-Level, IB, and Undergraduate) and many disciplines (engineering, biology, chemistry, physics, finance, and more).
My academic background includes PhD in Applied Mathematics (2025), an MMath degree (2025), and A-Levels (2016). Also, my Enhanced DBS Check is available to view upon request.
Throughout my undergraduate degree, I have been tutoring and helping many struggling GCSE, A-Level, and Undergraduate students get to grips with their mathematics, and be confident that they are more than able to achieve the highest possible grade in their examinations. I value the flexibility, creativity, problem-solving aspects of the job, but the biggest reward is seeing someone’s abilities grow.
My lessons are relaxed, and include practice on targeted topics alongside important exam technique. The levels at which I offer tuition are as follows:

In the first lesson I will always aim to understand the student's needs and explain how I can help. I create a plan to work within a timeframe and get a good start on the content.
Typically I will begin by assessing a student's mathematical background and current understanding to see how much support is required to get them to where they want to be in terms of mathematical ability in line with any specifications of the course.
Mathematics can be difficult to work with at any level and with over 9 years of consistent tutoring experience I aim to explain complex concepts using simpler terminology, diagrams, and patterns. It also helps to see the bigger picture so I always aim to give motivations to study certains areas of mathematics and demonstrate its applicability in the real world. In addition to my private tuition over the years I have also been involved in school outreach programmes while I was an undergraduate (2016 - 2020), and seminar delivery as part of of my PhD (2020 - 2024).
My lessons are for anyone looking to improve in maths whether that is for academic or recreational purposes. The lessons are one hour long and previosuly successful students have always booked consistently whenever they were stuck or were looking for exam preparation.

Perfect! A fantastic Tutor
Neri is a brilliant tutor. He has been offering some support with my degree studies and the input has been really great. He prepares so thoroughly and has a depth of knowledge that really makes a difference. He is also able to explain concepts clearly - I got a first in the topic he helped me with!

Nerijus is a very conscientious and hard working individual. He is extremely skilled in delivering information in a clear and engaging manner and has a proven track record of tutoring both GCSE and A Level students to a high standard.
Nerijus has tutored me with a level maths in summer 2017 for a month as i was preparing for my second year of 6th form. He has always identified my strengths and weaknesses, he explained topics clearly (and sometimes in different ways if I still struggled), and was very dedicated to teaching me. He was resourceful and we often agreed what we will do in the next meeting for which he would prepare by providing questions, and sometimes he would create questions on the spot to test my understanding. I always felt comfortable asking questions and he was friendly in explaining things no matter how obvious they were to me!
