About Nicholas
I am a qualified mechanical engineer from Wits that has worked in the industry and is looking for a career change. I have been tutoring high school Mathematics since 2012 while doing my degree to pay for my studies and really enjoyed it when a student would grasp a concept they had been struggling with. I will be studying for a Post Graduate Certificate in Education to become a teacher.

My teaching method is to help high school students understand what they are doing and why they need to do things in their Mathematics and Physical Sciences subjects. Once a concept is understood this instills confidence and motivation to learn more and helps remove the disliking of a subject that comes from not knowing what to do.
I approach each topic by gauging what the student is familiar with and then asking questions to help them find their own way to the solution while teaching/correcting basic concepts along the way.

Details
If travelling more than 15km is required an extra R50 will be charged for transport.
Longer lessons (1.5 to 2 hours) are recommended to give time for teaching concepts as well as giving practice work for the student to apply concepts.
