About Meredith
I am a medical student with a strong background in science and a genuine interest in helping students learn how to think clearly about difficult material. Before medical school I completed intensive pre-medical coursework in biology and chemistry, so I understand how challenging these subjects can feel when concepts are presented too quickly or without explanation. I enjoy breaking complex ideas down into simpler pieces and helping students build confidence as they begin to see the logic behind what they are learning. Outside of school I spend a lot of time reading, writing, and staying active through running! My goal as a tutor is not just to help students complete assignments, but to help them become more thoughtful, independent learners.

As a medical student, I spend a lot of my time learning complex science and breaking it down into clear, understandable ideas. That’s the same approach I bring to tutoring. Instead of memorizing information without context, I focus on helping students understand why things work the way they do. When students grasp the logic behind a concept, whether it’s biology, chemistry, reading comprehension, or writing, they gain confidence and can apply that understanding to new problems.
A typical lesson begins by identifying what the student finds confusing. We then work through the concept step by step, using examples, questions, and practice problems until it makes sense. I also help students develop study strategies so they can become more independent learners.
My lessons are well suited for middle school, high school, and early college students who want stronger foundations in science, reading, or writing. I aim to create a calm, supportive environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and thinking things through.
