About Giuliano

I'm Giuliano, a third-year medical student in Graduate Entry Medicine at the University of Limerick, currently on clinical rotations. I'm originally from Canada, where I did my undergraduate degree at McMaster University before moving to Ireland for medicine.

Outside the hospital I'm a published researcher in ophthalmology (eye health) and I run a student ophthalmology society at UL, so explaining complex science clearly is something I do all the time.

Why I teach: I learn best when someone walks me through the logic instead of handing me a list to memorise, and I know how quickly a dry textbook makes you switch off. I want to be the tutor I'd have wanted: someone who makes the subject actually make sense, keeps lessons engaging, and focuses on what gets you results.

My lessons are built around one thing: getting you marks in the actual exam, not just "understanding the topic."

I'm a medical student at the University of Limerick, so biology is what I work with every day, from cells and genetics to the human body systems you'll see on the paper. But knowing biology and scoring well in Leaving Cert Biology aren't the same skill, so every lesson is tied to the marking scheme.

Here's how a typical lesson works:
• We start with what's worrying you: a topic, an experiment, or a past-paper question you got stuck on.
• I explain the logic first, so you're not just memorising lists. Once you see why something works, it stays.
• We practise real exam questions and I show you exactly which words the examiners award marks for.
• You leave with a short list of what to revise before next time.

Lessons are online, relaxed and paced to you, whether you're aiming for a H1 or just want to stop dreading the subject.
