About Isolde
I'm a current Medical Student at the University of St Andrews. Having recently gone through the medical school application process myself, I know exactly how overwhelming it can feel. I received offers from St Andrews, Newcastle, Liverpool and Edinburgh so I understand the difficulty juggling A-levels, UCAT prep, personal statements, and interviews, all while trying to manage sixth form life. That’s why I’m passionate about helping other students navigate the process with confidence and clarity to obtain the best possible offers. I’ve always been drawn to people-focused roles. At school, I volunteered regularly in classrooms and community hubs, gaining experience in teaching and mentoring younger students. I also took on leadership opportunities, from being Head Girl to public speaking and Model United Nations, which strengthened my ability to explain complex ideas in a way that feels simple and approachable. These skills translate directly into my tutoring style: patient, structured, and always tailored to the individual in front of me. What makes me different as a tutor is that I combine firsthand insight into what admissions teams are really looking for with an empathetic, student-centred approach. I’ve sat in the exact seat you’re in now, wondering how to make my personal statement stand out, or how to stay calm under the pressure of an MMI. I use proven frameworks and practical strategies, but also make sure my students leave every lesson feeling encouraged and more confident than when they started. Outside of medicine and tutoring I love working in teams, whether that’s on the lacrosse pitch or volunteering at events. I’m also curious about the bigger picture in healthcare, with aspirations of one day working in global health with organisations like the WHO or UN.

I’m a current Medical Student at the University of St Andrews, offering expert, one-to-one guidance to students preparing for Medicine applications. My lessons are tailored to support every stage of the process, with a strong focus on building confidence and maximising your chances of success. Here’s what I cover in lessons: Medical Interview Preparation & Mock Interviews We'll go through common interview formats (MMIs, panel, Oxbridge-style), develop strong, structured answers using proven frameworks, and practise mock questions under realistic conditions. I provide detailed, personalised feedback to help you refine your communication skills, ethical reasoning, and confidence. UCAT Preparation I’ll guide you through effective strategies for each section of the UCAT, breaking down question types, time management techniques, and how to improve your score over time. Lessons are interactive, with targeted practice and review of real-style questions. Personal Statement & Admissions Guidance I can help you plan, structure, and polish your personal statement to reflect your motivations, experiences, and suitability for Medicine. I also provide advice on university selection based on your academic profile and preferences. Balancing Medicine Applications with A-Levels Having gone through this myself, I understand how tough it can be. I offer practical advice on managing your time, reducing stress, and staying on top of both your application and academic performance. My lessons are always tailored to your specific goals and progress. Whether you're just starting to think about Medicine or getting ready for interviews, I’ll provide the structure, support, and strategies you need to succeed.
