About Rahaf
Hi! I’m a first-year Medical student, having previously completed a First-Class Honours degree in Clinical Pharmacology.
I’ve always enjoyed science and learning how things work, which is what initially drew me to Clinical Pharmacology and then Medicine. I also really enjoy helping other people understand things, which is one of the reasons I started tutoring.
Having had quite a few tutors myself throughout school, I know that finding someone you get along with and feel comfortable asking questions to can make a big difference. I remember how much easier it was to learn when I felt comfortable saying “I don’t understand” without worrying about getting something wrong. I want my students to feel the same way. I’m patient and non-judgemental, and I want my lessons to be a space where students feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes and taking their time to understand something properly. There’s no such thing as a silly question!
Outside of university, I enjoy playing the flute, learning to play the guitar and going running. I also studied Spanish at A-level and am currently continuing to practise it through lessons. I like having things outside of studying to keep me busy, and I think being a student myself helps me understand the pressures that come with school, exams and university applications.
I’m really looking forward to meeting new students, getting to know them and hopefully helping them feel more confident in subjects that they might not feel so confident in at the moment!

I offer tuition to Year 9–11 students studying GCSE Maths, Biology, Chemistry and Physics, as well as A-level Psychology.
I have tutored students from Year 7 to Year 11, supporting students with a range of abilities, confidence levels and learning needs. I believe there is no one-size-fits-all approach to teaching, so I adapt my lessons to each individual student. Depending on their needs, lessons may involve breaking down difficult concepts, working through examples step-by-step, using diagrams and other visual explanations, or practising exam questions. I also encourage students to ask questions and identify areas they find difficult so that lessons can focus on what will benefit them most.
Having had my own fair share of tutors throughout school, I also understand tutoring from the student’s perspective. I know what makes a lesson engaging and useful, as well as how frustrating it can be when a teaching style doesn’t suit the way you learn. I therefore aim to make my lessons encouraging, supportive and tailored to each student.
Lessons are typically one hour long, which I find provides enough time to cover material thoroughly while helping students stay focused and engaged. Where appropriate, I am happy to arrange additional lessons during the week or longer sessions to suit the student’s needs.
My goal is to help students not only improve their grades, but also understand the subject, build confidence and become more independent learners.
