About Chris
Mixed background as an experienced teacher who studied writing and journalism and has worked in hospitality and tutoring. Students have mainly been secondary level but have ranged from 7 to 35. The main subjects offered were English and Literature but I have also offered conversational English, EAL, edited creative writing and theses, and helped complete resumes and applications.

Lessons are based on student's needs and personal ability. Emphasis is on improving basic skills, understanding content, developing a structure and building confidence. Essay structures, reading a prompt and extending vocabulary are central to improve results. My technique is old school scaffolding of providing basic skills and frameworks and ensuring students understand a text and can provide a sound clear answer.
