About Alexandra
I am a dedicated and responsible high school student with strong academic experience and credentials in the subjects I teach. I have taken advanced math and science coursework and understand the effort and challenges that come with these classes. I take every lesson seriously and do my best to help you in your studies.
As a student myself, I understand how important it is to have a tutor who is both knowledgeable and easy to communicate with. My goal is to make every lesson productive while helping students develop the skills they need to succeed independently in their studies.

I believe the best tutoring is about learning why something works rather than simply memorizing steps. Learning should be a fun and productive experience, not something to dread. My goal is to help students become confident and independent learners by breaking difficult concepts into manageable pieces and adapting my approach to each student's needs.
Some of my teaching methods include explaining concepts in multiple ways until the student finds an approach that makes sense to them, identifying knowledge gaps that may be hindering their understanding of the material, using diagrams and real-world examples, preparing students for exams while reinforcing long-term understanding, and encouraging students to explain their thinking.
A typical lesson begins with a brief review of what the student currently understands and what they are struggling with. We then focus on the most important concepts, work through some examples, and finish with independent practice. I also leave time for questions to clarify any misconceptions.
What sets me apart is that I am a high school student who has taken many of the classes I tutor. I understand what it feels like to encounter these subjects as a student, including the parts that can be difficult to learn in a classroom. I aim to create an environment where students can ask questions without feeling embarrassed or judged.
