About Strachan
As a recent graduate of Waynesburg University's Education Department, I have had the opportunity to complete 352 hours of classroom field placement experience. In addition, I have worked as an Emergency Substitute at Carmichaels Area School District, as well as a Non-Instructional Substitute Teacher Aide at Rhinebeck Central School District. This hands-on exposure to the teaching profession has allowed me to craft and present lesson plans, manage classroom dynamics, and collaborate with host teachers to ensure student success. I have learned firsthand how to engage students and encourage curiosity, critical thinking, and a love for learning, all of which are essential in teaching.

My teaching philosophy is centered on creating a supportive, inclusive, and free for all in terms of learning and not having my students think of my classroom as an imprisonment, much like the character Patrick McGoohan portrayed in "The Prisoner," who valued individuality and freedom. I believe that every student has unique strengths and potential that can be unlocked with the right guidance and encouragement. To achieve this, I emphasize the importance of understanding each student's needs, particularly those with challenges.
