About Irene

I am a University of Central Florida graduate with a Bachelor's degree in education with six years of experience teaching and tutoring. My passion for teaching is matched by my enthusiasm for coaching softball and volleyball, where I guide young athletes in honing their skills. Recognized for my excellence, I was awarded Teacher of the Year in my first year of teaching while also leading my students to achieve the top civics and government scores in the county I teach. My approach to education is professional and structured, ensuring that I adhere closely to the state-based curriculums while also creating an engaging and supportive learning environment for my students.

About the lesson

Some of my teaching methods include:
-Inquiry-based learning (students learn by asking questions, conducting research, drawing conclusions, etc.)
-Differentiated instruction (I use different learning styles to accommodate different learning abilities, styles, and needs)
-Discussion-based learning (students are encouraged to discuss and participate in discussions to increase critical thinking skills)
- Scaffolding (structured support is provided as students learn new skills and concepts to build on previous skills)

A typical lesson would start with asking students if they have any questions from the prior session, plus a quick "bell ringer" to check for prior understanding. Then I would begin with an introduction to that day's topic through discussions on prior knowledge of the topic {(if any) to see what the students already know or don't know}. I would then facilitate the lesson using different technologies and programs, projects, etc to enhance a creative learning environment. I would then end the lesson with an "exit ticket" to see that students comprehended the point of the lesson.

As a teacher, I have the skills to take on any challenge a student(s) throws my way. I can adapt to change and provide a safe and compassionate learning environment, free of judgment. I understand students may be in one grade level but not learning on that level, so it is important to always be understanding and helpful in guiding them to succeed.

My lessons adapt based on who I am teaching: elementary, middle, high school, and adult needs. There is no grade level I cannot tutor! I have experience helping all ages.

She also was struggling with reading and in my opinion, if you can't read well then you can't write well. She helped our daughter so much, we would recommend her to anyone that needs support!

Irene helped my son with his writing and he was able to pass his FAST testing in school (we live in Florida). He originally scored a 1 beginning of the year and his last test he scored a 4. She is phenomenal and really loves working with the kids! We will be using her over the summer to keep my son in check so he doesn't lose progress with being out for 2 months.

Details

The first session is discounted to $15.

The schedule can be customized but ideally, it would be 1 hour a day Monday - Friday between 5 pm to 9 pm with the last session beginning at 9 pm.

Weekend sessions are $45 an hour.

Weekly and monthly packages:
1 week (10 hours) - $300
2 weeks (20 hours) - $550
3 weeks (30 hours) - $850
4 weeks (40 hours) - $1,100

If you have more than one student you would like tutoring for, the hourly rate may be combined for the following:
2 students: $50
3 students: $80
4 students: $110
