About Chelsey
I am a music teacher, Irish traditional and classical flutist, and doctoral scholar at the University of Limerick in Ireland. My Ph.D. research explores the engagement of early 20th century Irish traditional recording artists with the social and historical context of New York City and the impact it had on their music. I completed my Master of Arts in Irish Music Studies at the University of Limerick in 2019. My thesis and research focus was based on the effect of early 20th century recording technology on contemporary practice and perceptions of Irish traditional music. I graduated from Marywood University with my Bachelor of Music in Music Education in 2013. I completed my teacher training program as part of my undergraduate degree and have experience student teaching in both primary and secondary settings.

I have been teaching K-12 music in several capacities for about 10 years and am working on my PhD dissertation in Irish music. I love academic writing and playing traditional Irish music.
My wide ranging experience in both classical and folk music, as well as my research and writing abilities, make me a unique tutor in music. I am able to tutor at any level and am open to any subjects within music.
