About Brin
Brin Dawn is a Minnesotan who spent the last five years living and learning in Portland, Oregon. She is a restorative yoga teacher in her second year of teaching, focusing on restoring the nervous system and incorporating mindful awareness into her classes. She has taught a variety of yoga classes such as hatha, gentle, restorative, yin and vinyasa. Brin studied with yoga teachers in Portland where she completed her 200 hours of yoga teacher training, with an additional training in restorative yoga. She studies meditation with mindfulness teachers from the Mindful Awareness Research Center (MARC) at UCLA; she has participated in several meditation retreats and workshops on mindful awareness practices. Brin is currently studying and practicing qigong moving meditation with Heartmind T'ai chi.
Brin’s somatic studies include: dance improvisation, Gaga movement, vinyasa yoga, hatha yoga, yin yoga, aerial yoga, acroyoga, T'ai chi, rock climbing, and ecstatic dance.
Brin’s meditation studies include: yoga nidra, mantra, breathwork, sound healing, chakras, mindful awareness and loving kindness, and the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali.

In my classes you can expect guided meditations, quietude, de-escalation of your nervous system, breathwork, connection to nature, playfulness, and poetry. As your teacher, I will create space for you to be in your own body, to experience yourself as you are in this moment. To me mindfulness is a way of life, a practice of noticing, staying open and curious, watching my mind, listening to my body, and embracing my spirit. I find inspiration for my teaching in nature, through daily meditation, studying the Yoga Sutras, Mary Oliver poetry, mindfulness practices, and following the cycles of the moon and of the seasons. My teaching is also inspired by the deep river of intuitive wisdom that resides within us all - may we dip into that river in our practice, both on and off the mat.
