About Melissa
I became a travel industry professional after graduating from university with a BA(Hons) in Hispanic Studies and French and have continued to use my languages consistently over the past 20 years.
Last September decided to change career and I began my PGCE in secondary education, specilising in Modern Foreign Languages.
Having previously tutored students in prepartation for their GCSE's I knew how rewarding teaching could be.
I work full time in a high school teaching both French and Spanish to students in KS3 and KS4.
The pupils that I have tutored privately in advance of their GCSE's have grown in confidence and reduced their stress levels in advance of their exams.

My classes are based on the student need. I ascertain what their goal is eg. improve speaking skills, or understanding the different between perfect and imperfect tenses, and plan sessions based on that. I use revision guides, online resources and my own lesson plans based on national curriculum schemes of work.
As I work in secondary school, my lessons are geared towards the 11-18yr age range, but I can also teach younger children using more active ways of learning and I can also teach adults looking for specific topics relating to business or holidays for example.
