About Ivan
With more than 11 years of experience as a Drum tutor, I specialize in teaching college students from beginner to intermediate levels. I help students build strong rhythm foundations and confident playing techniques. My teaching approach is based on creativity, critical thinking, and mentorship.
I focus on helping students understand how rhythms work instead of memorizing patterns. This allows them to adapt easily to different music styles. I use innovative teaching methods such as slow-tempo mastery, groove variation exercises, and guided improvisation. I also include timing drills and coordination challenges to improve accuracy.
Accountability plays a key role in my teaching. I provide structured practice plans and review progress regularly. As a mentor, I support students with clear feedback and encouragement. In addition to drums, I teach rhythm theory, basic notation, time signatures, and performance confidence. My lessons are practical, motivating, and goal-oriented.
