About Adam R
I am a highly experienced teacher, tutor, and examiner with a background in British, American, and international schools. Over the years, I’ve helped students of all abilities build confidence and achieve strong results by developing clear thinking, effective writing, and a deeper understanding of their subjects. As an examiner for both GCSE and IB, I have an excellent insight into what examiners look for and how to approach questions strategically. My goal is to make learning engaging, structured, and tailored to each student’s individual needs — ensuring steady progress and genuine enjoyment of the subject.

My approach to tutoring focuses on building confidence, curiosity, and clarity. I encourage students to think critically and express their ideas with precision, whether analysing historical sources or crafting strong essays. Lessons are fully tailored to each student’s needs, using explanation, guided practice, and active feedback to develop analytical, writing, and exam skills. In History, I help students construct clear arguments supported by accurate evidence, while in English I emphasise close reading, interpretation, and effective written expression. Each session lasts around 60 minutes and typically includes a brief review, focused teaching, practice tasks, and reflection on progress. I have extensive experience tutoring IB, A-Level, and GCSE students, and I’m familiar with exam expectations and assessment criteria. My lessons are designed for learners aged 13–18 who want to strengthen their understanding, improve their grades, and feel more confident in their written and analytical work.
