About Harper
I have 5 years of teaching experience and hold a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics. During my teaching journey, I have guided students from middle school through higher secondary education, helping them improve mathematical reasoning through supportive mentoring and structured lessons. I enjoy creating an encouraging classroom where students feel comfortable asking questions and developing confidence in their abilities.
One student initially struggled with interpreting mathematical graphs because connecting graphical representations to equations seemed challenging. Through visual learning activities, interactive graphing exercises, and consistent practice, the student developed stronger analytical skills and achieved excellent improvement in mathematics assessments.
I believe mathematics develops creativity, precision, logical reasoning, resilience, and lifelong curiosity that benefit students in every stage of education and professional life. Outside teaching, I enjoy designing mathematics puzzles, participating in educator training programs, and exploring innovative teaching methods that make mathematics enjoyable for learners of all levels.

My teaching philosophy emphasizes helping students develop mathematical confidence through understanding, exploration, and consistent practice. Every student begins with a detailed assessment that evaluates mathematical knowledge, learning preferences, confidence level, academic goals, and study habits. Based on these findings, I create customized lesson plans that strengthen foundational concepts while gradually introducing more advanced mathematical topics.
Students receive instruction in arithmetic, algebra, geometry, trigonometry, statistics, probability, introductory calculus, mathematical reasoning, quantitative analysis, and problem-solving techniques. Lessons integrate conceptual explanations, guided demonstrations, collaborative discussions, visual learning strategies, independent practice, and reflective exercises that encourage students to explain their reasoning and evaluate multiple approaches to solving problems.
Real-world applications from finance, engineering, environmental science, healthcare, computer programming, architecture, and economics demonstrate how mathematics supports practical decision-making across many industries. Students complete personalized assignments, cumulative revision sessions, regular assessments, and detailed progress reviews that reinforce understanding while preparing them for academic success.
