About Lara
I am an MPhil Chemistry graduate with over 4 years of teaching experience. My work takes a holistic and interdisciplinary approach to the chemistry of art and cultural heritage preservation. I focus on topics such as pigment analysis, material degradation, and conservation treatments. I enjoy connecting science with art to make chemistry both fascinating and meaningful. In my lessons, I use historical art pieces and real-life case studies to explain chemical concepts. I also introduce chemical analysis techniques used in preservation work. Ethical considerations in restoration are an important part of my teaching. I guide students to think critically about the balance between preserving and altering cultural heritage.
