About Salaar
Friendly MSc graduate with a passion for teaching maths and coding. I help students gain confidence, improve grades, and build real problem-solving abilities. I’m Salaar, a Computational Neuroscience MSc graduate with a background in Computer Science and AI. I’ve always enjoyed breaking down complex ideas into clear, simple steps, and I want to help students feel comfortable tackling maths and coding. During my studies I often mentored peers, and it made me realise how much I enjoy teaching — I hope to move into academia one day, where teaching will be a big part of my career. For me, tutoring isn’t just about passing exams, but about helping students think independently and build long-term confidence. I’m patient, approachable, and genuinely motivated by seeing others succeed.

I tailor my lessons to each student, focusing on building confidence as well as understanding. My approach is to break concepts down into clear, simple steps and then apply them to real problems. I encourage questions throughout and check understanding regularly, so students don’t just memorise methods but actually learn how to think through problems. A typical lesson lasts 1 hour, though I can adjust depending on the student’s needs. I usually start by reviewing tricky topics from school or homework, then introduce new material with examples, and finally work through practice problems together. I have a BSc in Computer Science with AI and an MSc in Computational Neuroscience, Cognition, and AI. I’ve mentored peers during my studies and helped students with maths-heavy coursework, coding projects, and exam preparation. I teach: Maths – GCSE and A level Python & Computer Science – from beginners up to A level / early university I also support with study skills, problem-solving techniques, and exam preparation. My lessons are suitable for GCSE and A level students, university beginners who want extra support, or anyone looking to improve their maths and coding skills.
