About Amaya
I’m a Physics tutor with over 4 years of experience and a BA in Physics. My primary focus is helping students explore condensed matter physics and materials science. I guide learners through complex topics like crystal structures, band theory, superconductivity, and semiconductors, always connecting them to real-world technologies. My sessions are designed to simplify abstract concepts while revealing the deep physical principles behind them. I place special emphasis on understanding the behaviour of solids and liquids at the microscopic level. Whether we’re discussing atomic lattices or charge carriers, I encourage curiosity and precision. I’ve worked with students from diverse academic paths, helping them link theory with applications in electronics, energy systems, and emerging technologies. My teaching approach in physics is gentle, reflective, and centred on practical scientific inquiry. I help students connect theory to hands-on experimentation in a meaningful way. From experimental design and data analysis to error propagation and scientific reporting, I guide learners through the full process of lab-based physics. I especially enjoy working with DIY scientists and curiosity-driven learners. They often thrive in a space where they are encouraged to explore and question. I support them in finding their own approach to scientific discovery. Together, we turn raw data into insight and mistakes into learning.
