About Fiona
Hello everyone! I am multilingual (Japanese, Portuguese, and Spanish speaking) and have always loved learning and teaching foreign languages. Since studying foreign languages and teaching students from all over the world, I truly understand the challenges my students face, as I have been in their situation as a language learner myself. I have taught lessons to adults of all levels and nationalities for over 20 years, teaching overseas as well as in Australia at various English language schools. I have a TESOL Postgraduate Certificate (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages), a LOTE Spanish Language Teaching Certificate (Languages Other Than English) and a Bachelor of Arts / Languages (Japanese and Spanish) After graduating from university I taught English in Japan (for one year), Spain, and Brazil. I am passionate about teaching and I love helping my students achieve their English language goals. As well as learning and speaking foreign languages, I have a passion for traveling and sharing cultural experiences with my students. I also love Latin dance!

My lessons are fun, communicative and often task based, depending on the student's needs. Our main goal is to build your confidence so that you can communicate more comfortably in any situation.
At first I enjoy getting to know my student’s interests and reasons for studying English. I then provide interesting, well planned lessons, focused on a variety of topics and skills depending on your own individual needs.
Do you need English for travel purposes, for work, university, or to be able to connect with friends or family from other parts of the world? I will create a plan to help you achieve your English learning goals.
I am able to teach all skills including speaking, pronunciation, grammar, listening, reading, writing and vocabulary.
I believe it is important to also include natural everyday expressions in our lessons, such as idioms or phrasal verbs to help you speak English in the most natural way possible!
