About Lewis
I am a tutor at the 'Rock God Academy' performance course, at which my roles include teaching the students covers, helping them to compose material, and developing their ensemble performance skills.
I have recently graduated from the British and Irish Institute of Modern Music in Manchester with a first-class honours degree, and am looking to attain students for freelance teaching. In my final year of study, I excelled in my Music Teaching Practise module, receiving a high first overall, with particular achievement in my designed 10 week guitar course. I have received my Grade 8 Electric Guitar qualification, and have been a touring musician for the past 5 years.

My teaching methodology focuses on creating an environment to nurture what I consider to be the 2 most important aspects of musicianship; creativity and enjoyment. This enjoyment is an incredibly motivational factor, which has beneficial impacts on not just on the guitar learning itself, but can stimulate students to want to learn outside of this context. The creative aspects of my teaching also have wider applications, allowing the students to explore subjects on their own terms and find their own personal strengths and ways of learning.
