About Darcy
Hi, I’m Darcy, a professional guitarist and music graduate with a real passion for teaching. I’ve been playing guitar for over 10 years and hold a First-Class Degree in Music from the Institute of Contemporary Music Performance, as well as a Grade 8 Rockschool Guitar qualification.
Alongside teaching, I’m an active gigging musician and have performed at venues and festivals across the UK and Europe. This real-world experience shapes my teaching and allows me to help students develop practical, musical skills as well as solid technique.
I’m a reliable, patient, and encouraging tutor who takes pride in creating a supportive learning environment. I understand that everyone learns differently, so I always take the time to listen to my students and adapt lessons to suit their goals and ability. Whether you’re a complete beginner or a more experienced player looking to improve, I aim to make lessons both enjoyable and productive.
Most importantly, I’m professional, well-prepared, and committed to helping each student make steady progress and feel confident in their playing.

My lessons are tailored to each student and shaped around your goals, whether that’s learning songs you love, improving technique, building confidence, or preparing for graded exams. I use a flexible teaching approach that adapts to your learning style and pace, covering areas such as rhythm and lead guitar, technique, improvisation, and music theory explained in a clear, practical way.
Lessons usually last 30 or 60 minutes. I teach all levels, from complete beginners to advanced players, and I’m happy to teach children, teenagers, and adults. Most lessons are online, with in-person lessons available locally by arrangement.
