About April
I am a music graduate with a 1st class music degree from King's College London, and a distinction class masters degree from SOAS, University of London. Throughout my degrees, I developed methods researching and writing essays scoring marks of the highest tier. I will share these methods, as well as a broad knowledge of musicological knowledge which covers key texts in music history, music analysis, popular music, art music, and ethnomusicology. As a researcher, I have presented in conferences, and engaged my original music research within the academic community.

Do you want to achieve a 2:1 or 1st in your music degree?
I will guide you to writing a first class music essay at university through my expertise in music research and writing.
I will introduce students to essential methods for researching and writing an essay, including: how to find sources, critically reading texts, synthesising secondary readings into original arguments, writing in an academic register, accurate referencing, and more!
Lessons are led by students' ideas and curiosity for musical subjects, with my own input acting as a guide to refine topics into sophisticated and well-researched arguments that encompass the scope of university-level essays.
I offer an initial 30-minute consultation/taster session for free.
Lessons can take place online or in a public space.
