About Wayne
At the end of primary school I started learning guitar. In high school I started building audio electronic projects and playing with tape recorders.
At the end of school I was in a band, writing songs. Our band recorded at professional studios, but I was never happy with the results, so saved for a 4-track recorder, around at the time, and learnt to multi-track record and mix..
Times have changed, the quality of home recording now is phenomenal. But it can become a jungle. I feel fortunate to have learnt from rudimentary tools to listen and learn the power of simplicity. I am an electronics engineer and computer programmer so understand the bridge between creativity and technicalities.
But any audio technician worth their salt will tell you to learn the basics then listen and follow the feel.

I have had a passion for playing and recording music from a young age. I eagerly will impart my technical and creative knowledge to you in engineering, mixing and mastering. I will help you break through the sometimes daunting barrier of learning software and technicalities to pull creativity and technical aspects together into tight arrangements and interesting music productions. I have clocked up a huge amount of hours over 25 years, moving through simple 4-track recording, to working in professional studios, to now running a DAW-based creative space studio. I produce a big, professional sound from my project studio. It is the best joy for me to capture the essence of musical performance and expression.
Lessons are hands-on as much as possible. I believe in doing not getting bogged down in theory or technicalities. The creativity should drive the process and the software be the tool. But knowledge is of course essential. I reduce sometimes difficult tasks down to simpler concepts. I will help dispel any fears you may have of the technology and get you producing recordings quickly. Come by for a free first lesson/session.
