About Mithesha
Hi, I am Mithesha, and I am a Music tutor from London, based in Oxford! I am currently pursuing my music studies with a Music degree at the University of Oxford, and continue to simultaneously share my love for teaching via tutoring. Starting off as a mentor in high school, I have been tutoring for 6 years. Having experience in teaching children and adults in a range of different jobs (as a music tutor, dance teacher, and a maths tutor), I hope to make my lessons fun, interactive and accessible for all! I also have experience with teaching lessons in person, online, and hybrid. As a result, I have been able to pick out the best strategies that have helped my students achieve the results they've wanted, and implement them into my more recent lessons.

My lessons (varying between 30 minutes and 1 hour as the student pleases) are tailored for anyone who wants to work towards ABRSM or Trinity College London Piano exams. Lessons can also be adapted for those not taking exams, but would just like to learn/develop their playing. Through my lessons, I aim to develop the student's individuality and creativity as a performer, as well as their love for playing their instrument. I hope to take a more well-rounded approach to teaching; incorporating aural, music theory, and other musical skills into my lessons. Through my patience and engagement with the student, I aim to create a positive learning environment where the student feels comfortable to build on their love for playing the piano! I provide mock exams closer to exam dates if the student wants. I provide students with detailed lesson notes of what we have covered in the lesson and what to practise. In addition to my pianistic achievements, I have completed Grade 8 ABRSM music theory, having achieved a 9 in GCSE Music, and an A in A-Level Music. I am currently working towards a Music degree at the University of Oxford.

Perfect! We love Mithesha! I engaged her to start piano lessons with my 15 year old foster daughter and in just a few lessons she has made wonderful progress, and more importantly has been motivated to practise and progress. I asked her what she liked about Mithesha and she said she is very good at explaining things, is very patient and is understanding. We certainly recommend her highly.

Mithesha is a highly competent tutor. As I was beginning to build a tutoring business of my own, I reached out to other people at my university who were also tutoring. Consequently, I received a mock lesson from Mithesha, from which I learnt a considerable amount, which I could then apply to my own teaching.
Mithesha is the kind of tutor who makes lessons feel relaxed and fun. Only after the lesson do you realise how much you have learnt!
Mithesha is highly experienced and, as a dance tutor with a background in Carnatic music, has many interesting perspectives to bring to her music lessons. I would HIGHLY recommend her.Mithesha takes time with the things I find difficult and explains everything in detail. She prompts me to try and see what I’ve done wrong (multiple times even) before she reveals any answers, and that’s what I like most about her lessons. Would reccomend!
Mithesha is a great tutor who tailored her sessions to our needs. She would often bring us organised notes to aid us in our revision and teach us simpler ways of learning harder topics.
Mithesha mentored me in music theory in the lead up to completing my GCSE music exam. She was very thorough in her mentoring and was able to answer any questions I had. She also came prepared with various worksheets that tested my ability to recall what she has previously taught me.
Mithesha is a great teacher, who is very friendly, and also takes the time to explain content so that the student feels comfortable and can understand at their own pace.
