Jonathan Scates has been my Tutor now for a year. With this, he has helped to increase my understanding to a competent knowledge of music and music technology. Jonathan has also helped to build my confidence in understanding the dynamics and history of the music industry and the practical uses that come with it.

Jonathan shows very good teaching techniques, offering me nothing short of patience, understanding and the gift of motivation. He always allows me to go at my own pace, whilst also encouraging me to take new risks and step out of my comfort zone.

He is understanding of my work commitments and is patient whenever I require some time away from lessons or have fallen behind in my practice. Also offering me 'homework' and reading, that he has personally sought out for me, to keep me informed and up to date.

Before moving on to new music / areas of focus, Jonathan never fails to make sure that I am completely satisfied with my progress and current level, he also encourages me to have an equal say in where we take each topic further.

Jonathan is always punctual, well-organised and communicative. I am always confident that I am going to receive full attention during our time together, also that I am going to receive the upmost respect and quality in our lessons.

Jonathan is an absolutely fantastic tutor. As a classroom music teacher from a classical background, I was a bit stumped when I inherited my music tech A level class. Jonathan provided helpful insights on the different functions of Logic and broke the topics down into an easy to understand format so that I was able to teach my students. I can thoroughly recommend Jonathan as a tutor.

Jonathan has taught me for a few years now. He has been so patient and understanding (as I’m a complete beginner) and that’s made all the difference for me!
