About Ayla
Hi, my name is Ayla! I grew up in Mexico and with both Mexican and American parents I was raised speaking English and Spanish. I started learning new languages on my own a few years ago for personal interest. I soon realized that writing down and memorizing information was only doing so much and there was still a huge gap between where I was and where I wanted to be. Around that time is when I learned about comprehensible input, which consists of immersing oneself in the language, similar to the way a baby learns to talk. I find that this technique has helped me improve a lot, and I would love to share this knowledge with others!

Lessons are geared toward personal interests, current level and goals of the student. From that base I create lessons that are engaging for the student to stay motivated. I aim to create a safe learning space where the student feels comfortable to share any questions or concerns without the fear of being judged. By using materials such as videos, short stories and articles, we begin to immerse in the language. This method is proven to be the most effective for learning a language, since it is the same way we learned our first language as infants!
