I’m David, a native British online English tutor who takes great joy in helping students of all ages develop and grow their language skills. With years of teaching experience, I’ve honed the ability to adapt to a wide range of learning styles and proficiency levels, ensuring each lesson is effective, engaging, and tailored to the individual. As an experienced author and skilled proofreader, I bring a sharp eye for detail and a deep appreciation for clear, polished communication—qualities that enrich my teaching and help students gain confidence in both spoken and written English. I'm also very particular about pronunciation and will kindly and constructively point out areas for improvement, helping you sound more natural and confident in your spoken English.

For my youngest learners, I love using the Oxford Phonics World series—it's a fun, interactive way to build a strong foundation in phonics. As they grow in confidence, we transition to the Oxford Discover series, which introduces more complex language concepts in an engaging and age-appropriate way. For older children, I find the Cambridge Think series especially rewarding. It goes beyond exam preparation by encouraging critical thinking and offering a comprehensive approach to language learning. This series challenges and motivates students, helping them develop both skills and confidence. I regularly incorporate stories, news articles, and topical discussions into our lessons to give students real-world context. These materials help learners improve their reading comprehension, vocabulary, and ability to express ideas clearly in conversation. I also offer free conversation practice and public speaking sessions for intermediate to advanced adult learners, creating a supportive space to build fluency and confidence. Across all age groups and levels, I provide tailored classes focused on reading fluency and comprehension, designed to meet each learner’s specific needs and goals.
