I was extremely satisfied with the Danish lessons from Jakob! I got to know Jakob through my former employer, who arranged Danish lessons at the workplace. After three years, I started a new job and no longer felt entirely confident in my Danish skills. So it was an obvious choice to take lessons with Jakob again.

During this time, Jakob has consistently been our most reliable and highly requested Danish as a Foreign Language instructors. I really appreciate the effort Jakob put in adjusting to and understanding my personal issues with the Danish language as I have been in a weird stage of understanding a lot when hearing or reading but struggling when talking myself. Jakob is a very experienced Danish language teacher whom I can highly recommend to anyone wanting to learn or improve their Danish at whatever level. I’ve had around 15 lessons with Jakob now and he’s honestly a brilliant tutor. Right from the start he took the time to understand how I learn best and shaped his teaching around that, rather than sticking to a rigid one-size-fits-all method - which has made a huge difference to how quickly things have stuck.

Beyond the teaching itself, Jakob is just a genuinely lovely person to spend an hour with each week. He’s sharp, easy to talk to, and makes the sessions feel more like a good conversation than a lesson, which honestly helps the learning along even more.

One session that really stands out was when he taught me the Danish numbering system using a wonderfully silly video about how the numbers supposedly originated from counting fish. Completely random, genuinely funny, and somehow it made the whole thing stick far better than any textbook explanation would have.
