I believe that language is an art form, not just a set of rules. My method moves away from dry repetition and focuses on Active Production. I like to combine academic structure with visual arts and cultural context, I like for my students to feel comfortable, Instead of just reading a word, we analyze a painting, sketch a concept, or discuss a cultural movement.
My typical lesson depends on the student needs. However I like to start with grammar then move on with reading, then writing, and finally we practice our pronunciation. For all of these sections I have different activities I also based these activities with the students level.
What sets me apart is having a degree in Latino Studies, I provide a bridge for students who want to understand the intersection of English and Hispanic cultures.

Leslie is such a sweetheart. My son was struggling with reading and writing. She did such an amazing job explaining and helping him throughout the course. Definitely recommend her. Very helpful and patient.
Leslie is very patient and organized. I like her teaching skills and I was able to learn a lot from her. I had a hard time learning English and she was very patient with me.
I’ve known Leslie for quite awhile. She is a very patient, kind and considerate person which is essential in teaching! She is knowledgeable; I remember I needed help on an important project for school and she was able to share some insights and better prepare me for my presentation. She is able to create a welcoming and open environment as well. I would definitely recommend her to help you learn!
I am writing to wholeheartedly recommend Leslie, who cared for my child when he was three and four years old. As a parent and as a school educator myself, I hold very high standards when it comes to childcare and early language development, and Leslie exceeded them in every way.
During her time babysitting my child, she created a nurturing, engaging, and creative environment. She consistently inspired him through art, often painting alongside him and encouraging self-expression, imagination, and confidence. These activities were not only enjoyable but developmentally meaningful, helping him strengthen fine motor skills and creative thinking.
In addition, Leslie played an important role in building my child’s vocabulary. As a bilingual child learning both Spanish and English, he benefited greatly from her patience and intentional language support. She naturally incorporated English into daily interactions, helping him expand his language skills in a way that felt comfortable, positive, and age-appropriate.
What truly sets Leslie apart is her kind and gentle nature. She is sweet, patient, and deeply caring, qualities that are essential when working with children. She built a trusting relationship with my child, making him feel safe, supported, and encouraged to learn.
As an educator, I confidently recommend Leslie to any family or program seeking someone who can support children’s English language development while providing thoughtful, compassionate care.I highly recommend Leslie; she is a great tutor! She has helped me with English, she has tutored my son, and it has been a rewarding experience.
