About Ellen
I'm American by birth, with a neutral East Coast accent, and love teaching younger children how to speak English as a second language. I've been active with another on-line EFL organisation for some time now, and have found that enthusiasm, lots of smiles, and a reward system (coloured stars! puppets!) help keep children focused and engaged in learning.

With younger children, I've found that demonstration, repetition and using fun props, such as puppets, soft toys and pictures help to engage and motivate them. I limit lessons to 30 minutes, as most children can't focus for longer than that. Each lesson starts with a quick review of what we learned last time, and builds on that, and a hug from a tiger puppet or a big gold star is a welcome reward for remembering what we learned!
