About Brian
Hi folks, my name is Brian and I am an English teacher, originally from Ireland, living in Barcelona since 2015. I am a TEFL-certified guide with an enthusiasm for the arts, particularly theater and creative writing. I hold a BA in Drama and an MA in Creative Writing, and have lived and worked in three different continents.

In my lessons, either in a small group (up to 5 people) or one-to-one environment, I tend to stress the importance of confidence and clarity, and the developing of techniques to avoid verbal pauses through gaining confidence in expression. We would speak freely at the beginning of a lesson, then graduate towards pre-prepared materials, either online or physical, which will use the skills of reading and writing, and then we will investigate listening and the challenge of approaching different dialects.
